Recently I submitted work to a juried group show to be held at the Center for Sex & Culture here in SF. I was rejected! I present below my five rejected photographs, as a sort of mini “Salon de Refusés” (Exhibition of Rejects) - a term that originated with a show of Impressionist paintings rejected by the official Paris Salon in 1863.

I quote from the solicitation. < submit recent artwork that deals with themes of sexuality, sexual identity and gender identity. Please do not censor yourself. Nothing is too perverse!> < artwork of significant merit that addresses sexuality and sexual identity, especially those that are non-normative >.

Doing Your Dirty Work 3 opens the evening of Friday, August 1, at 1349 Mission Street, between Ninth and Tenth Streets in SF. I invite you to attend the opening and let me know whether you think my work deserved to be included! The show runs through Sunday, September 28.
